VPK Students Celebrating Together

 

Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)

The Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Program prepares eligible four-year-olds for kindergarten at no cost. In Broward County Public Schools, it is combined with Pre-K hours to offer a free full-day program at Title I schools.

INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY PROGRAM (IND)

Stirling Elementary is proud to offer a dedicated IND program for students with Intellectual Disabilities, starting at age 5. This program is part of a larger effort by Broward County Public Schools, which supports over 2,000 students with intellectual disabilities.

Each child’s learning plan is personalized through the IEP (Individualized Education Program) process to meet their unique needs. Support may include:

  • Learning based on Florida Access Points for reading and math
  • Lessons in science and social studies
  • Life skills like communication, social behavior, and independence
  • Therapies and services such as physical or occupational therapy, nursing, and specialized transportation

The goal is to help every child grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive and inclusive environment.
